Can somebody tell me the what length from the rear of the cab to end of the chassis on a 130 is? Have an old landcruiser on the farm that I want to get shot of. Has a tipper on the back that is 2100mm long. Really want a 110 tray back but if the tipper fits on a 130 might go for that. There seem to be a lot more 130s around than single cab tray backs.
2100 is doable. There was a post last year that looked at this issue. Google it. iClick (Paul) has a 2100 tray with a aluminium canopy on the back and he loads that up.
IMHO a tipper on a dual cab will result in too much weight behind the axle. The axle sits a long way forward under the tray compared to a cruiser.
A pic of my 130 when it had a tipper. I don't know for sure but I think the tipper was 1800mm long.
My current tray is 1800mm long and sits 350mm aft the cross member. I could move it forward 75mm but the numbers illustrates the problem that at 2100 there is country mile of tray behind the axle.
What about a 130 single cab? There are a few on the market.

This is a 2100mm tray on a dual cab 130. Towing is compromised due to the hitch being underneath the tray.

Ahhh -that makes sense now.
When I spoke to you on the weekend I didn't get that the tray you wanted to fit was a tipper. If I get home before dark tonight I'll get you a photo of my 130 single cab, and a measurement from cab to rear crossmember.
Tray is 2700 but that overhangs the rear of the chassis by about 400 or more.

Here's a 130 single cab. Cab to back of the rear chassis crossmember is 2300mm

I have the box off my vehicle at present to put a water tank underneath, just measured and from rear of cab (most rearward vertical panel behind doors) to rear of chassis is 1500mm.
I'd consider lifting the tray, but the issue would then would be the access height of my other canopy and CoG. I'll run it like this for a while and relocate the spare wheel into the gap behind the cab. The bulk of the Trayon's weight is up the front (fridge, water gas bottle etc). The manufacturer of the Trayon sent me a pic of another 130 with the same setup (I think they're an AULRO member)
And yes, the steps are appreciated by the wife and kids.
PM coming your way re the roof rack. Thanks, it's been very handy!

iClick - it would be really interesting to run it over a weighbridge to get front/rear axle weights with and without the camper on. That will confirm very quickly where the weight is.
