    ABS light flickering.

    Hi all,
I need some advice from anyone who has had ABS problems on their Defender.
My problem is the ABS light flickers while under acceleration. It stops if you take your foot off the accelerator and coast. But also if stopped fully ie wheels not turning and you have your foot on the brake the light sometimes flickers with engine revs. But if you start to move no problems.
    All this is also intermitant.
I'm running with an earthing problem but really not sure.

    Any thoughts?

    Nino.

    Fault found!

Just in case anyone else has this problem. I traced the fault to the hand brake light wire that runs adjacent to the hand brake. I noticed that if you slightly raised the hand brake, not enough to bring on the dash warning light the flickering ABS light symptoms would stop. Push the hand brake down and the ABS light flickers again.
Pulling back the dust boot I couldn't see anything obvious but 'wiggled' the wire and intermittent flickering. I pulled as much apart as I could and cleaned all the connections and cut and replaced the terminal. The new terminal was soldered on. I then repositioned the wire as it had run across the HB lever. Than reassembled.
I've now done about 1000km and all seems fine. No flickering.
I hope this helps anyone scratching their heads as I was over the the same problem,

    Cheers

    Nino.

Usually flickering ABS light (TC actually) under acceleration is usually the front wheels slipping.
