    Serpentine Belt tensioner???

    Quick one

To change out my vac pump, MM says release tensioner CW, slack belt remove pump. Triffic! MM doesn't advise on how to operate the tensioner.......well not he one I have

Did stick 15mm socket and bar on tensioner, a la TD5, moderate pressure/torque and it didn't move, mind you the centre bolt did a tad. Is this correct? More torque on the centre bolt head??????? or have I missed something.

Someone with "the knowledge" please advise.

    Cheers

Not sure about my method but I got the result I wanted.

I use a ratchet strap from underneath and just cranked it down. Removed belt, swap vac pump, replaced belt and wound the ratchet back off.

    Worked a treat

I just use a long 15mm spanner push the tensioner outwards and slide the belt off a pulley.

    Hello again.

    Got it sussed.

There is a 3/8" drive recess on the C/L of the tensioner pulley, hiding behind the fan blades. PoP after that

Will also add to "good oil"

    Cheers
