I've insured my 2013 def90 with Suncorp for around $1270 i believe. But i got the top cover with every available extra. The way i see it is that my Deefer is an investment, and i want to have the least amount of loop holes that the insurance company can get through if anything should happen to any part of my pride and joy at any time. After some research i found that the cheaper your insurance the more "no cover" clauses they have, regardless if its advertised as the companies top cover.

I am with Shannon's on all three of my landies. 2 Defenders and one Disco

With Shannon's as the 90 is an import and the 4 big insurers will not touch an import.

For all three full comp with the toys listed is $118 a month so $1416 a year.

Wife had a bloke drive into the side of the 110 last year and Shannon's stepped up and replaced everything no argue and got it done straight away.

I have always said can't go too cheap on insurance due to when you want them, they will then show you why they were cheap.

I have mine insured for agreed valued of $61k only because of all the extras I put on after I bought it. I have been with RACV for many years but when I bought the new Defender I registered it to my company so I couldn't insure it under my name so they treated it as new customer and hence the premium was $300 higher. I tried 3 other big insurers and were all similar.
I tried Shannon's but they have a max value of $50k.

Mine is ensured with RAC, full comp, costs me $600 as a 21 year old, $200 excess. They also insured my car for $2000 more then I payed for it...

They also said they'll make it $400 next year if I do a free RAC driver training course.

Allianz quoted me $1400, they said they don't match quotes. AAMI quoted me $700.

Hi I gave up on the NRMA's RACQ etc after I read the fine print. I felt that I would be ininsured in offroad use and would loose out on the value of my accesories, went with TCIS brokers. Was able to list all my extra's (PTO winch, bullbar, heat exchage etc etc) and the replacement value of each. Have no geographical limitations with cover for off road use including recovery after a prang.

They have been pretty good, each year they offer a couple of alternitives. Have never made a claim though.

    Cheers.

Worth it weight in gold, when you consider any remote recovery/extraction is usually a minimum fee of $3000 where I am, and most 4x4s aren't covered off the blacktop, but most don't realise that until it's too late!
I know of a number of people who have had to walk away from $50,000 plus left in sand dunes...
    Cheers
