    Body panels / Chassis Interchangeability

    So I can learn a bit more before commiting to any possible project (Hypothetically at this stage).
    Running through from the 1980's 110 - Tdi - Td5 and Puma models are there any production changes that effect the interchangeability of Chassis, fire wall, body or other panels.

    A few examples of what I might be after;
    Could a puma body be fitted to a 110 chassis and fire wall? Or for that matter what about the Tdi or Td5?
    Can a civilian body be mounted to military chassis?
    Are any engine or gearboxes incompatible with each other (ignoring anything that might be impossible to register i.e. older motor into newer chassis)
    What governs the model (age) of what the vehicle is? I assume that itwould be the chassis and firewall.

    Thanks again to the knowlege bank!

Puma Tdi and TD5 bodies should be interchangeable, late td5 and puma have galvanized doors which are better quality. All these models have a 110' inch chassis I am not sure of the exact changes over the years, however there are some differences. All the bulkheads are certainly different
    Can a civilian body be mounted to military chassis? Yes, another forum member RAR110 has done this

    As indicated above I fitted a wagon body to my perentie chassis. It has a 300tdi firewall & front doors, a late county body and rear doors an early county bonnet and other bits. So they are highly interchangeable. There are variations so getting parts can be a pain esp clips for door cards.
