130 rear seat bolts- captive or not?

I'm going to be taking the rear seats out of the 130 (2008 'Puma') shortly, wondering how much hassle the bolts are going to be; I know LR are not big on captive bolts. Thinking of the 10mm bolts under the front of the rear seats, where the pivoting seat mounts are bolted to the mounting box. Are they going to drop into the box, or are they going to stay put?

    HI POD,
I have taken out the rear seats in my 2009 Defender 110 and was delighted to find that there were no loose nuts to battle with underneath. The chassis bracket has female threaded collars attached. I presume you're 130 would
    be similar.
    Regards, SILVERADO

Thanks Silverado, sounds like you are referring to bolts that go through the floor into the chassis; the 130 dual-cab is different to the wagon in that the rear seats are mounted on a big flat-topped box that is itself bolted to the vehicle floor and forms a large void in the rear of the cab. I'm referring to the bolts that hold the seats down to this box. There are bolts that come up from inside the box, I'm wondering if the bolts will fall into the box when the nuts are removed, which would necessitate removing the box and would be a major pain in the neck. I'm sure there are plenty of folks on here with 130s who have removed the rear seats?

    Hi pod

I have a 2009 130 and have taken the seats in out a few times. On mine the bolts are captive. In fact I use the ones on the passenger side to bolt in my fridge.

    Cheers Dave

Great to hear, I'm planning on doing the same thing! Nice to know beforehand.

2010 130 and I have removed the seats, removed the pivot mechanism and the rear latch (that catches the seat at the back of the box) and all are captive. Certainly no loose nuts to contend with.

There are some permanent bolts that stick up from the box. Also there are mounts for the seat rubbers that are permanent, unless you cut them out. Thus you won't get a flat surface across the entire box.
