The immobiliser thingy has stuffed my day quite a few times....
No EKA code on my 2013 model either....
Don't forget to take your EKA code with you (and know how to use it) if you have one.

    Regards,
    Mike.

Nb, picture =what happens when your immobiliser works too well.

Thanks guys. Sounds like the wheel bearing conversion back to the older type nut where you can use the hub spanner is something I will get my mechanic to do before I go.

We have 3 hf radios all with VKS 737 membership and enough tools to strart our own mechanics shop. It is the spares I need to have to fit if required.

Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

Are fuel pumps ok now or dodgy ?
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

M.R. Automotive in Queensland offer a spare parts kit:

We can supply a spare parts kit to take with you that is customized to your vehicle and the conditions you will encounter on your big adventure.

We provide this service free of charge on the basis that any parts used or damaged must be paid for on your return.

This sounds like a great service - does anyone know anyone else offering a similar package in other states?

    I completely forgot about that.

I took a hard copy of the workshop manual and also took spare vacuum pump, belt and shock absorber....just because I had them lying around.

They've been on a nice tour of SA and I'm glad to say, remain unused.

Replace your intercooler hoses with silicone ones and take old ones for spares. Tape should fix most other issues. I picked up some UV activated tape from Prestige Euro Autos at Mulgrave NSW before my last Simpson trip. Very handy. Also replace all nuts on your accessories roof racks etc with nyloc before you go.

You will have to wait for Bushie's trip report of the latest Edjit adventure. I am sworn to secrecy until we leave in July. But Geosurveys is on the list again

Let's hope Bushie keeps it just to Aulro this time That Madigan trip report sure is all over the internet.

Your Puma will be fine. We did the Madigan with newhue last year in his Puma and he had no problems at all with it.
