    Td5 Replacement

I was at JC's workshop this afternoon while he was playing with the new DMax, got me to thinking on a replacement motor for a Td5. Find a wrecked Dmax, preferably an auto, and spend a whole heap of cash installing the motor and box into the Deefer.
It's obviously a lot more involved than that but as far as an actual replacement for the Td5, I think it would be great. Good power, frugal, and being Isuzu and the amount sold parts shouldn't be a problem.
Just wondering if anyone else has thought of/done any reasonable conversions.
    Cheers Bob

    Motor Swap

Find an old transit, remove motor...................oh..wait!

But seriously I would like to get on old V6 TD from a wreaked Ford Territory. I think that would be in keeping and a good solid motor. Sort of!

    Cheers all

I could get a puma, but that's not the point, my deefer is the car I have and enjoy. A puma just starting all over again. There's a lot of Td5's out there, would be a shame if everyone just abandoned them. I could buy a puma, or this or that new but your not getting it. I'm not thinking of doing this in the near future, but if a wrecked dmax crosses my path be sure that I'll be picking it up.

...Move along please sir, there's nothing to see here... Yes we now allow any makes and models in, head above water and all that...still, keeping busy in this economic climate is what it is all about.
I think bob is onto something, that revised 4jj1tcx engine in front of the 5spd auto certainly seems like it would make a fantastic transplant...common rail 16 valve, vnt, grossly understressed, max torque comes in at 1800 to 3200 rpm, 380Nm factory, up to 500 reliably by all accounts with little trouble.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
