There is a huge thread in the section all about changing to LEDs on a defender use the search function at the bottom of the page
The guy does a great job of telling you what you need to do.
Might be a simple case if changing to a more suitable relay
Have recently fitted led park blinker and brake lights to the 98 defender130 including one that fits perfectly into the older type ARB bar. All good except that the blinker runs a bit fast. Is there a different unit to cater for the reduced power draw of LEDsPeter

This is what I put in my County to rectify the fast flashing with LEDs
Just check the pin layout is the same as yours. I took out the 4 pin hella but the 4th pin wasn't needed anyway. The flasher cans come in 2 3 4 and 5 pin with different layouts. The Narva web page has explanations .

Yeah, check how many pins your flasher has and buy an LED flasher replacement or find the aforementioned thread and modify your own to suit. Usually LED flashers don't have the trailer bulb functionality so one less pin is normal, but I have limited experience with them as I just modify my own.
I recommend that you find that thread as changing to LEDs can cause undesirable things to happen thanks to the Defender's... interesting indicator wiring. I'd link to the thread, but not sure how to on the phone.
Here it is Dervish: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/90-110-130...er-unit-5.html
pjlhat: Go right to the first post and read up to the present. Most of the useful stuff from Dervish is in the first page or two. I'm doing LEDs on a County at the moment and seem to be having a grounding issue somewhere. Maybe this long weekend I'll have time enough to chase it down.
