    Which Caterpillar battery

Looking to replace my Century 68 cranker with a Caterpillar (staff discount helps!). Anybody able to recommend a similar sized battery?

No idea about similarity to the Century 68, but I have a CAT 175-4370 in my td5 130 which I've had just over 3 years and going strong. Cost $158.65 for me as a regular off the street customer from my local CAT dealer. Good product, good price in my opinion.

Looks like the 175-4390 might be an even better choice as a pure starter battery. Same size, but higher CCA.

How do these Caterpillar batteries compare to the likes of Century?

Are you saying you get staff discount?

More importantly, where are you looking at getting them from? I've given up trying to find a supplier near here.

I have been using them for years in my tractors and vehicles and have had a good run out of them. I just get a spec sheet from the dealer with all their batteries dimensions and specs and find one that is suitable.

my work has a reasonable sized account with Hastings.........they don't really stock deep cycle and their price on start/hy-breds was OK but availability was a pain...ended up buying elsewhere

You can get them from the Hastings Deering Cat Shop on Beaudesert Rd, Archerfield.

I may or may not work for HD
