    loose sun visor

    Hi

My sun visor drives me nuts!!!!

It drops down when I hit the slightest bump without warning

Is there any way to tighten it up?

    Thanks

Simple answer: no. You can pull the bars on which the visor pivots out and bend them a little to provide more friction, but it's a temporary fix at best. The only way I could think of to do it would be to weld onto the pivot bars to increase thickness, then grind them round again.

Needless to say, I've just learnt to live with the sun visor hanging down a bit.

Without wanting to state the obvious, new ones!
I had the same problem and ended up replacing them with new. It was the only way unless I wanted to glue Velcro to the head lining. Then that will stretch the head lining and course further issues.
Don't go to the wreckers. You will probably be in the same boat in a fortnight.

    Time for new I'm afraid.

I'm going to change my visors to Disco visors.
It frustrates me no end when the sun burns a hole in the side of my head.

Why can't LR just get a simple thing like this right?

Has anyone done that? I'd like swing away sun visors too, but I'm not sure there's adequate metal behind the headlining to mount them.
    Don.
