short clip of our 10 month trip from the UK to here in our 300tdi

Posted this in the International trip section but though the wider audience might enjoy it

The long awaited motion picture of our trip.

Granted, it is short, it isn't great quality in placed and yes the theme tune I chose is dark. But we didn't set out to film our trip, just to enjoy it and get some great photos. The video was always an afterthought so this is what we put together from the best bits.

    I hope you enjoy.

Wow. That's a great video. Great bridges. Did anything happen in the last scene with the truck splash?

Superb, a amazing trip especially the BAM. Did you do the Old summer road (road of bones)to Magadan or the "federal" highway?

    Thanksfor the positive response guys!

Nothing happened with the truck, the water just managed to burst through the sunroof seals! I just got very wet. That was in Kazakhstan and it had rained non stop for 5 days.

We didn’t drive the Old Summer Road as Siberia was having its wetest year in over 100 years! The BAM was just about do-able on a motorbike and nobody managed to do the OSR. We looked at it but after speaking to several locals and seeing recent pictures decided against it. As a single vehicle it would have been nearly impossible. The road has degraded to a point where only 2 wheels will get through. We tried again on our way back from Magadan but then there was a fuel shortage! We got enough to keep going but not enough for a 300km detour. I was very disappointed at the time but looking back it was the correct decision.

When you see photos of 5 Kamaz trucks stuck in 2m deep mudholes and 20 Russians digging you tend to think twice about going on your own with your girlfriend! I think I will go back and cycle it on my own one day.

We actually canned the BAM at the Vitim bridge (after 3 solid 12 hour days in low range) because we didn’t think the rail bridges would be passable. It was ultimately too risky. Again, 2 wheels rule in these kind of situations.

Great video, must have been an awesome trip!

Were you towing a trailer throughout?

Apart from Afghanistan. We left it in Tajikistan for that bit.
