I'm having serious issues keeping my centre diff engaged, will stay in for sometimes less than 60 seconds then disengage without any noise, the light will simply go out.
 Any ideas

 Cheers

It's just a linkage adjustment issue, simple fix, if your still in warrantee get the dealer to sort it..thinks there is a link on here about it..?

My dual cab (MY2013) was the same. Drove me nuts. Second service complained and the dealer had linkage adjusted. Made it a little better but still unlocked itself way too often.

Have kept using it and by the time 3rd service was due it's working now much better. Like it has to wear in, something like that.

if anyone has a link to more information would love to see it. Have struggled with this for a few years now and out of warranty it continues. Dealer is being good about it but feel like I am not getting any closer to a solution.

Have had the same problem with mine too. Have had it looked at through warranty, and I think it'll still be a problem.
Mine seems to Not lock in, which means there's something wrong with the "Detent" side of things. Dealer tells me it all cable operated which is fine, but surely it must have some kind of detent lock

I have asked the question before myself, was informed of a mechanic somewhere in Melb who can fix this properly, but I'm afraid I can't find the info.

I had the same issue. Went back to dealer until they fixed it properly. It was a simple adjustment but took them three attempts.

I've got the same issue.. and I suspect that whatever causes the diff lock to drop out also is what causes my lever to drop to neutral (in between high and low range) when on steep inclines. (and it's not fun let me tell you). My dealer thinks I am imagining it. Maybe if I die on the next hill they'll listen..

Yep. I've got the same problem (2012 model). Its been back to the dealer twice and it is fine about 90% of the time but the other 10% it doesn't feel like the diff lock is engaging properly. My mechanic says the selectors can't be adjusted any further. When it doesn't feel like it has engaged properly it doesn't last long before the diff lock light goes out. At this point I can climb under neath and pull the selector lever (watch out for the hot exhaust pipe though) towards the right hand side of the car and it is now engaged properly so I guess the problem lies in the lack of allowed movement in the lever / selector. One solution possibly is to tie a piece of string to the
selector and drill a hole in the sill panel under the drivers door, pass the string through the hole and tie a piece of wood to the end of the string. Then when you have this problem just open the door and pull on the string!. I've got another year before the warranty expires so hopefully things will have freed up a bit by then.

 Kerry
