    I seem to remember the instructions saying not to use loctite of ANY sort, due to the thread diameter it would be too hard to get undone. Or words to that effect.

    At one stage it had loctite master thread sealant. Well bugger me if I didnt nearly break a 600mm long 1/2" breaker bar trying to undo the cap. ....
    The threads are of tight tolerance, will mine are so with bugger all clearance between the threads there is the possibility......similar to stainless I guess

    I use thread sealant for gas as it doesn't set.

    The beauty about forums is there is lots of advice, one just need to go with what they are comfortable with.

    Stainless, you are referring to gailing and thats because of the material.

    Thread tape is pretty soft and its not like im doing 7 full wraps.

    like I said I used a loctite pipe thread sealant not ment to set. But it did. I wont use it again. Ive used the thread tape now a few times and all good.

    makes me comfortable
