Is it only doing it when accelerating under load? A hissing squealing sound, sounds more like an intercooler hose. These are the large diameter hoses that carry pressurised air from the turbo charger to the intercooler and back into the inlet. Sometimes those rupture and leak and can make an awesome squeeling sound.


Oil seeping from the gasket could be as simple as a rocker cover gasket.. They all do that at some stage...

Oil on the side of the block under the manifold is usually a sign of a break in the manifold gasket. The break allows the small amount of oil that normally gets past the turbo and intercooler to dribble down the side.

It is a common occurrence, not a huge problem and is easily fixed.

Thanks for the reply. I have listened to the engine running and it is making the sound idling as well. It sounds mechanical not air leaking.

Whistle, if you think it is mechanical go and buy a stethescope from super expensive. it may be as simple as an idler bearing, water pump or alternator bearing. Think they are in mittagong
