I suspect they have determined that the load on a 90 axle is less, so are not bothering with a recall.

If that is the case, its a bit of a cop out. . Considering a lot of 90's get a fair bit of a work out too, must check mine see if they are leaking. . . means I have to wash it for the first time in nearly 9 months though 0_0

Suzuki have a recall going for Jimnys. Some have a loose front panhard bolt. If there's thread damage then they swap in a new diff housing. A few guys on the Suzuki forums have had theirs swapped out already.

I think it's amusing that Suzuki are putting whole new diff housings in for one thread that could be safely and easily helicoiled/new nut welded on/cut off and nut fitted ect, yet Land Rover aren't replacing housings that are defective and a genuine safety issue.

that's because Jimny's carry bigger loads and do harder work than the LR's 0_0

Or perhaps because Land Rover has the worst customer service reputation for a reason. I love my 2013 90 but if I had it over I would consider the toyota. Practically every time Ive had to deal with a dealer or LRA, which is far too often for a new car, it has been a nightmare. Im dreading calling them next week about the loud grinding noise that just started in the back end when the vehicle is in motion....

Funny. I've almost always had excellent service from Land Rover dealerships - in general far better than anything I've experienced from Toyota. It really just comes down to the difference between individual dealerships.

Interesting.. my front diff and TC were replaced two weeks ago and although it certainly is quieter, there's still a whine from the rear. It's going back in for a week soon to get a new roof so I'll press the issue then.

What's puzzling is that despite this safety recall being in effect since August 2014 - my dealer didn't pickup that my vehicle was one covered by the recall. It would've made more sense to replace the axle housing when they replaced the front diff.
