    Red dot Aircon in td5

    Hey guys,

I've been combing the good oil section and doing a lot of searching for info on fitting a red dot R6830 to my 130.

By all accounts they work great, and they seem very straightforward to install. Suppliers list on their site that the unit requires:
    a compressor,
    Condensor,
    all lines and
    a receiver drier

to be fitted in order to let the unit function. No problems.

So my question: Will I be able to run the R6830 with the standard td5 compressor and condenser?
I want to do this as 1) I already have these items and 2) this way fitment and drive belts shouldn't be an issue.

Any replies, photos of installations etc will be VERY welcome. Thanks.

In my post Aircon abit different I used a sanden sd7 which possibly you have .
The condenser was about the same size as the one from a 95 defender but my evaporator was 32000 BTU .As the Red Dot you mentioned is 16000 BTU and the fact mine works extremely well your compressor and condenser should be OK even if a s5 compressor

Not sure if this helps, but I run a Red Dot 6100 on a standard td5 defender compressor - no problems.
