Standard 300 Tdi air filter - should it be oiled?

    Hi all

I am running just the standard/OEM foam air filter in my 300Tdi. Should it be dry or oiled?

Also is there any advantage in running a K&N filter? From what i have researched, I can't see any advantage.

    Thanks
    Andrew

The standard OEM filter for a 300TDi is a dry paper element and should never be oiled. A foam element is aftermarket and relies on being wet throughout with special filter oil. Don't bother with a K&N unless you wish your engine to have a shortened life span.
