Do you have pictures to show what the level of corrosion?
Just had some good news!!
My 5 yr old 110 went in to the dealer to get the corrosion on the roof seam checked, photos were taken and I had to chase down the last 12 monthly paint inspection report from the other dealer I use, 2 weeks later I get a phone call saying they are going to fix it and will need to order parts, confused I was thinking he has got the wrong file, so I asked what parts do you need and he said LRA are replacing the whole roof so they need the roof and seals and other bits to fit, so I see this as a win, they have knocked back other claims on the corrosion warranty in the past, my rear cross-member paint faded and rusted and they said I must have spilled something to cause it, but they have come good this time, must have got them on a good day. I am pretty happy about it, had a few marks on the gutter where the roof rack attaches and my darling wife going into too low car parks has put a couple of dents and scratches in it also.
Does anyone know if replacing the roof is a big job? Should I be looking for anything in particular once finished? Knowing some of the issues I have had at dealers in the past (they forgot to bolt the middle cross member back up after replacing the clutch) I do not want the roof to blow off going up the motorway so would like to make sure it is all good.
cheers

Nice result. Mine had corrosion around the alpine windows and a scratch from one end of the gutter rail to the other due to a blind U turn at 11pm in a ridiculous storm, I collected the edge of a speed sign. When I got the corrosion repaired, they also repaired the gutter rail free of charge.

Had my roof resprayed as well, from alpine window corrosion and the roof seam cracked after 3 months off the showroom floor. Now I have corrosion under the rear door rubber seal and they are fixing that as well. I think corrosion is a fact of life but it might as well be LR fixing it before warranty runs out.
That's a good win! I had the dealer (probably the same as you seeing as we are in the same town) fix some corrosion on my defender while it was still under warranty and they needed to remove the roof in order to fix a loose screw in the wall of the car also.. sadly though ever since the roof was removed and replaced my 'non leaky' defender' has been leaking like a sieve from the top of both windows on the roof line..![]()
When was that Sue? I had some corrosion fixed around my alpine windows at said dealer, it has come back as well as the new corrosion on the roof seam, when I went in to see them he said that the company they outsourced my original paint work to in 2012 was gone and they now use their own paint shop, hopefully it is the BMW paint shop rather than the Chery one, probably the same though..
Can't you get them to fix the find/leak? this is my main concern, going in for your tonsils and losing a leg..
