This is the only supplier I know of, but I don't have actual experience. I think I'd like one, and I think they look good. Probably make it go faster too.
Don.
G'Day All,
I am in need of a good sun visor for my MY14 Defender.
What makes and models fit the best, last a reasonable time???? Having it parked at the train station every day is not good for it.
I thought it would be a good idea for my youngest to give it to me as a Chrissy present. That way he gets to give me something.
Cheers,
Phill.

Thanks for that Don, but it's not the sort of sun visor I was thinking off....
I don't know what else to call the bloody things now.... They are light weight, fold out, silver on the outside, often held on with suction cups.....
Sun shade perhaps?
I have one for my Disco, and nearly everyone has them for their cars. Some brands fit better than others....

Phill,
Best option for what you are looking at is 4 of the individual ones meant for side windows sold at any of the motor factors (Supercheap etc)
The defender's screen is too small for any of the actual windscreen ones and I just use the slightly rectangular side window ones "upright" 2 each either side of the rear view mirror. They have a spring steel surround that fits perfectly between the top and bottom rubber and you can drop the visor down for extra "hold", but its not really necessary.
I find installing the 4 individual ones quicker and easier than fitting the other half's metallic "foil" type one to her Mazda sedan.
Cheers,
Lou
G'day Phill,
Have a bo peep at this website, I think it is what you are looking for but the price may be out of the young fella's Christmas budget. I am thinking of getting some and stumbled across them, for what you get and how they are made I think they are of value.
Check it out, let me know what you think.

G'Day Jeff,
Thanks for the link. They look like just the thing. I will give them a call Friday morning if I remember and find out how much for a windscreen one. Hopefully a windscreen one wont be too expensive.
As for the chrissy pressent, i was going to buy it for him and get him to wrap it and give it to me for Christmas. It was always going to be my money anyway. LOL 7 year olds don't usually have much money.
I will come up with some sort of story, where I haven't looked at it etc..... I suppose that will require some creativity......
I had a look at those window ones. I got 4 for the windscreen for now. they are black and absorbent. Once i have made up my mind, I will donate them to the windows if I get that other one.
Cheers,
Phill.
For the front, I bought a big one and cut it down to size.
The one I bought was winged, and the wings fit nicely for the first row side windows.
I had leftovers to cover the roof windows, but the second row and rear windows are still on the "to do" list![]()
Well here's a market opportunity for someone to fill.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

G'Day Gents,
I enquired about the cost of the windscreen visor (only), and was informed that it is $130. This is a tad expensive in my books, so I will probably just buy a large one from one of the cheap car parts stores, and cut it. As FeatherWeightDriver did.
I find it hard to think about modifying things sometimes.....
I was thinking that some duct tape would be ideal as cut edge protection.
Sometimes I would like some protection through the front door windows, but I don't know if it would be worth the hassel. I might get some of the little ones with the taper because they are so quick and easy to fit.
Cheers,
Phill.
$130?!?! We are talking about thin foam and foil right?
If yes SuperCheap has a $15 that cuts down just nicely!
