						G'day,
5000km's on the new 90 Puma since September and loving it.
I've noticed over the past month a clunk when selecting first gear. It's a noticeable noise and has enough force to shunt the truck along very slightly. Happens maybe 30% of the time I select first.
Just wondering if that's normal or anyone else experiences similar?
I love all the other strange noises the Puma makes so could get used to it, but it just feels a bit weird.
Thanks guys

Now that you mentioned it mine does it too. Am taking mine in a couple is weeks to tighten up some bolts for back clash and will ask about it
We were getting worsening backlash on our 110. We took it back a couple of times to get it checked out. In the end the cause was that it wasn't locking into high range. They've since fixed it and it made a huge difference. Is the high/low range shift selector working properly?

Mine does in both vehicles,my worsening backlash was the adapter shaft. Pat

						Thanks for the replies guys.
So doesn't sound too uncommon. Had figured it was related to driveline slop/backlash.
No issue so far holding it in low range, has never popped out.
Will mention it in a few weeks when it goes in for oil and a once over.
As Pat has said, there is a problem with wear with that adapter shaft between the back of the gearbox output and the input of the transfer box.
Replace as soon as you can, don't install it dry as it will fail again in a short time, so make sure that a suitable lubricant is applied to the splines.
Too true Arthur, but the biggest issue is convincing LR that there's an issue and getting them to crack the box open. Typically they're like a broken record..... That's normal... It's designed that way.... It's working within parameters
