    fuel sender unit replacement

Just got a new sender unit to replace the faulty one on my county 110 - took the old one out and went to fit new one but didn't come with new nut and olive-very annoying - surely LR don't expect you to reuse the old ones! Anyway- have ordered new nut and olive but wondering why the fuel line can't just be fitted straight onto sender pipe with hose clamp instead?

I was told to connect up with a hose clamp when I replaced my sender unit.
    Fuel line has been fine.
Can't say the same about the sender unit, however I don't think anyone has made an accurate fuel sender!

Kind of makes sense- fewer connections to possibly get air leak from!

I cut off the bend and clamped on fuel hose. The metal bend got kinked and split resulting in a leak.
