Thread: Water temperature gauge

Hi Hans,

I replaced the temperature gauge on my 110 V8 with a VDO model. I guess that it will be the same on a diesel engine except for the sender's thread that should match the sender's house thread on your engine.

I realy need to do this to!!!! Have no faith in the def one......... Only thought is that the sender may( no idea) be monitored by the ecu........ Easy way would be an in hose fitting if it is...

I've got a VDO capillary gauge fitted in my 300Tdi. It made me realise how coarse (normalised) the original gauge is.

Same old gauge in the Puma as well if I'm not mistaken

Ultra Gauge shows 15C movement up and down, but the Defender's own gauge just happily sits at just below half!

Do you get after market water temperature senders with digital readouts? I certainly was a sceptic until I had the benefit (and peace of mind) of accurate values. I would definitely recommend if it is available.
