I cannot suggest what your problem may be, but I can say my 2010 Def 90 aircon works fine, so your issue is not 'just the way they are'. I have had some issues with cables/linkages not working properly, so that may be a good place to start looking.

    Cheers

Check that the heater tap is closing properly...bit of a known issue.
Also, switch the aircon on and have a look to see if the compressor clutch is kicking in. If it isnt, check the fuse that supplies the clutch...it could be blown.

There's a fuse box under the driver's seat and another one under the dash below the steering wheel. Couldnt tell you off the top of my head which one it is located in.

The heater tap is in the engine bay, just between the cabin air blower and engine. Its a circular, white plastic valve with 4 hoses connected to it.

    Cheers
