A 265/75 is smaller in diameter than a 235/85.

Actually almost the exact same size in all but width, but correct in that they are 2mm smaller :-)

Defender stock alloys are 7" which takes just about any size up to 265 and even 285 at a push.

I have both an AT and MT set in 265/75/16, one on Boost alloys and the other on 7" ZU alloys.

With the correct wheel 265 won't rub. Wolf wheels work well.

And yes they are the same diameter at 235 just wider. You can do 285 as well but they can rub.

Sean,

In all honesty there is a very small chance that the rear might rub a fraction on full articulation. The 110's rear coils are a bit bigger than than the 90, hence the reason 265 is not a standard size as it's been on 90's in the past.

Your alloys are either "Freestyle" or "Boost" (avatar is too small ) and the offset is +33mm so they will sit very nicely in the wheel arches. The 265 does give the car a pretty stocky "stance" without looking like a dune buggy.

I would recommend them if asked...

It depends on the rims. Red_October's 110 on here had 265s on standard Disco 1 rims when he bought it. The coil turrets were shiny from the tyres rubbing.

My 285/75s on modified disco rims don't rub.

On my work vehicle, a D40 Navara dual cab, we fit Mickey Thompson ATZ P3's in a 265/70R17 which I imagine would be very similar to the 265/75R16; totally different tyre to the previous generation ATZ's.
They are great both on and off road, especially in the wet.
The 16inch version would be even better as it would bag up nicely.
Current set have 60K km and would have at least 20K km left in them.
Not cheap though.

Don't want a tyre bagging - that's a myth and completely incorrect.

Mickeys hardly do this anyway until the pressure is very low due to the sidewalk ply construction.
