The odometer still works reasonably accurately according to my Garmin.
I guess this means its not the cable or the gearbox drive.
I intend sending it away for repair once I have it through the blue slip process.

Diverging a bit, my biggest headache is working out how to fit a fuel cutoff thingie out of a Mazda truck.

The old pull cord is apparently now illegal. Bugger.

Funny how a vehicle can be deemed to be unroadworthy, but in reality perform magnificently. Last week crossed from Benambra Vic to Tom Grogin via Misery trail and the Davies trail. Some serious sections. THe old County just ambled through everything, then 100km/h all the way back to Orange NSW. No oil loss, averaged 10km/litre. (7km/l crawling over the mountains).
BUT clearly unroadworthy!
