    Defender production line

    As a Defender Wannabe (I'm waiting for my new, and first, Defender to be delivered in May), I found this clip of the production line that has recently been released.

    How the iconic (soon to be discontinued) Land Rover Defender is made | Manufacturing Global


    I'm sure this will raise some interesting discussion!

    Corris Grey. Black sawtooths. Tinted windows, black side runners, Mulgo bumperettes, Rijidij rear wheel carrier, Front Runner rack, 7 seat full leather, and a host of little goodies. I'm salary sacrificing it (novated lease), so I gave the dealer my wish list of items (eg, bumperettes, Roof racks, maxtrax, steering guards etc) and he was happy to source them for a discount and add to my total package. Saves on up front cash!

    I think I've taken a photo of every grey Defender with black wheels driving around Sydney as part of my planning. I even have the 3 kids telling me when they see a Defender.

    Apparently production is 13 Feb and dealer delivery is 24 May. I placed the order in October, so I can't wait.

    At 8min 7sec, you can see the part of the production line where they do the Quality Control for leaks (if it's dry out the other end, they send it back to the bloke with the drill up the line!)
