    Hot Gearbox on D90 2010

Being new to the defender world and still getting to know my D90 was wondering is it normal for the console around gearbox to get quite warm and is there anything you can buy to make it better? Cheers in advance.

Coming up to 2 years since installing the matting system and it still looks like new. Literally no change what-so-ever since I installed it!

The weak dollar will make the financial pain quite a bit worse than it was back in 2013, but if you add the price of Dynamat and other insulation products it might still be worth it.

The noise and heat reductions are particularly noticeable when you drive a car with no heat or acoustic shielding and you suddenly realise how much more comfortable your own car is!

    Cheers,

    Lou

A cheap place to start is to use exhaust wrap, once i complete mine i will post before and after temps from the gear box, (have a temp sensor installed). A cooler gearbox has to be a good thing.
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.
