My old man was a Nav on the B 8 out of Larbruuch... lots of perspex nose time, including looking at tree tops at 400 kts with a 'LABS' manoeuvre that went wrong! They picked tree branches out of the U/C in the hanger....

Reminds me of Olaf Ruhan's biography in which he talks about training on Lancasters in Canada - and occasionally returned to base with the engines overheating because the radiators were stuffed with wheat!

On the Buccaneer, when we did a AF or TR we use undo all the fasteners on the two forward service hatches first and then move out of the way then let them open, 9/10 they'd have sea water in them!

    Any fish?

A mate of mine 'bounced off' ground effect at night in a Lightening over the North Sea... there was mucky brown water in his service hatch when he landed!

By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

    90's loaded onto ship

A BBC news article, looks like these Heritage 90's could be for AU, all right hand drive, you now know the ships name, so you can track it.

Hoegh Target is just turning into the Mediterranean Sea, so probably those Heritage models are destined for the Middle East somewhere. Mine is on the Asian King as mentioned earlier, which seems to have stalled off the Coast of Mauritania. Hope it hasn't broken down or worse, but has been at the same location since 9th Sept.

Piracy? More likely waiting for a slot at a port somewhere on the way. Or the tracking system has problems.
