Thread: Defenders on Maxwell Hill Malaysia

If you are ever in Taiping Malaysia a must do is a Defender ride up Maxwell Hill, also now called Bukit Larut:

Must have met one coming the opposite direction!





The road is narrow, 13.5 kms & climbs 1030 meters with the longest straight about 80 meters: Up in 3rd & 4th gear, down 2nd all the way:

Some of the turns were so tight that the tyres were rubbing - they must have adjusted the stops to get a bit more lock:



Well worth the RM 30 paid for the 5 of us, and better than a Disney roller coaster

When I was last in Borneo, we spent a day spotting land rovers, put a thread up about it a few years ago, never seen so many land rovers in one day, the small villages are a great place to find them, they come out out of the hills pick up supplies then disappear again.

A fair few new ones too, more 110 HCPU than any other type.

Strange why they don't offer the 130 HCPU, I believe a few have been Imported by the government.
