Strewth,
lucky you were only doing the ear marking then![]()
School holidays with the kids and Mum asked me to lend a hand with some ear marking and drenching. 3hr drive from Perth and then straight into a few hundred calves and their mothers. Took a photo of my trousers after and sent it to the wife to remind her why a defender is more practical for us than a Discovery.

Can't wait for the mulsing, which would have to be the worst job on a farm
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

That picture just looks like my daughter after breakfast. And why she rides in the back of the Defender.

Fortunately my mum dealt with them! I was only down due to school holidays and had a last minute request to help out so the wife was spared.
The 7year old boy loved it. Helped load up the ear tags and I think he loved the fact the yards had become a sea of glorious mud.
