Thread: Transfer Case needs a rebuild

Hi
Can anybody recommend someone on, or within 200kms of, the Sunshine Coast to rebuild a transfer case for a 2.4 Puma defender? I can get a non exchange reconditioned unit shipped from Ashcroft in the U.K for a reasonable price, but would like to keep it local if I can.

What is the issue?

If you are able to remove/replace the unit you will save a tonne on labour
(and if you have the ability to remove/replace and can read a workshop manual I would be guessing you could rebuild it. It is a very simple gear box)

The money you save on labour, replace the centre differential with an Ashcroft limited slip centre diff
Not only does it make the rebuild a doddle but you end up with a better box
