Thread: Airflow Snorkels

Hi Brian , The Airflow snorkel's are OK . or raised air intake as some call them . The Safari snorkel's are a good product , I have one on my td5 . The Safari cost top $ if you did go for the Airflow is there a difference in price , and would there be an adjustment . At the end of the day they are all just a plastic pipe , once fitted they don't much , in the since they don't wear out . They all have black carbon in the help with UV. protection . At the end of the day they all do there job !!.. Jim

Thanks Jim the only adjustment is $20 so not much of a saving if was something a bit more substantial I probably would just of said yeah I'll take it. Thats why I thought I would ask the question looking at what pics I can find on google images I think I proffer the looks of the safari and like you said at the end of the day they are just a plastic pipe so going on cosmetic I think I'll end up getting cashed back try and sorce elsewhere.

The Airflow doesn't have the small divot - which stops the mirror arm making contact when opening the door - that the Safari has. I've actually seen an Airflow with a crack in it at that spot, which I assume is from repetitive contact with the mirror arm. The biggest issue I have is when opening the door sometimes, the snorkel pushes the mirror arm back. Takes all of 3 seconds to push it back, so I'm only worried about cracking. I've been thinking of using a heat gun to soften the plastic on mine and make my own divot.

Other than that, probably no real difference I reckon.

It's probably not as bad as I made out. In reality, if 5 minutes with a heat gun can save a couple of hundred bucks, I reckon it's well worth it.

What's far more important is actual performance, of which I'm in no position to comment on

Yeah fair call but if it was offered to me at a couple of hundred $ saving it wouldnt bother me either but since only being offered $20 from the price of a safari both are put into the same design quality category starting to feel this guy is trying to touch me up haha
