    Azza's 2013 110

    Hi Guys,

After reading many posts since buying my first defender and seeing how much knowledge is floating around this forum I thought I would share my build.

I will post up pics of all the mods thus far as there has been a few. lol.

Landrover already don't want to know me as there has been too many changes and the car is listed as being part of a restricted warranty division.
I think they created it for those of us that actually use their vehicles to do what I think they were made for.

Woohoo ive been chosen for the special class. lol.

Hi Azza , Is there any one thing that Land Rover don't like , to say about your warranty , or is It more ? Most of your extras are off the shelf bolt on stuff , I can't see It having any effect , So would be interested in your comments !!.. Cheers Jim

Isuues I have had so far:

Upon accelerating whist trying to turn out of a round-a-bout the boost hose jamming the steering wheel.
Repaired under warranty due to a recall notice.

Front transfer case output shaft seal leaking.
    1st time repaired under warranty.
2nd time found leaking was after a simson desert trip with 10K of corrigations, replaced whilst clutch was replaced.

Clutch rattle(issue with springs in dual mass flywheel), issue came about after crawling up big red during the simpson trip. Repaired under warranty.

Blown intercooler hose and car going into limp mode.
Landrover would not warrant as I put a larger intercooler on before going on our simpson desert trip. Repaired by Bruce Davis from Davis Performance. Hose was not a hose that was touched when the intercooler installed.

Received a letter from Landrover stating the car was "too modified" and now any future warranty issues would go to Landrover directly to make a call. All modifications listed down on the sheet.

Leaking EGR cooler. Leaking radiator water into cylinders from the EGR cooler.
Refused warranty due to aftermarket 3" exhaust installed. No changes made to any exhaust point pre-turbo which is where the EGR cooler sits. Many posts found and submitted to Landrover with people who have had the same issue with the same motor and had been repaired by Landrover to no avail.

Currently have an issue with the wipers that presented itself during the terrential rain last month. The wipers stayed on when on intermittant and in the off position.
I have ordered a VW relay that has a programmable intermittant frequency which should be better. Oh wait, another modification, that must void any warranty on the wiper system and electrics.

The thing is I was on my way there in the new financial year to by a Discovery for the wife but I think ill give that a miss now.

How do you like the Eaton E-lockers? Been toying with the idea of putting them on my 130 along with some swaybar unlockers.

They are great, have always had ARB until this and they have done a fantastic job. Allowed me to crawl over big red in 1st low without any issues

Current project bing installed is the 80ltr sub tank.
Should give me a range in excess of 1400km towing the camper trailer.
