    Next problem......

On the weekend, I had my 90 serviced. 30K oil change. I am going the keep my toy so I am servicing every 10K Km.
While it was up on the hoist, the mechanic calls me over and points to an oily patch at the bottom of the bell housing at the breather. It was engine oil....

Has anyone else had the rear main seal start leaking?

I suppose it was just as well it was spotted now.... As there was no mention of it at the 20K Km service.

    Cheers,

    Phill.

Land Rover fixed under warranty it now worries. Dropped the vehicle off in the morning and all ready that afternoon.

Same here... at around 20k. They said it wasn't the seal ... but was an easyfix. It hasn't returned after 5k.

    Thanks Gents,

This sounds like an easy fix.... Far too easy for a rear main....
    I wonder what it is?

    Cheers,

    Phill.

The Mt82 gearbox breather vents into the bellhousing.
A few Mt82's have had issues with gearbox oil coming out of the breather and running out the hole in the bottom of the bellhousing.
