Many thanks for doing that, I gave up after 3 hours of trying. Cheers.

Thanks Seaweed, intriguing how longevity and impending end of production is finally eliciting respect in the north! No nonsense, yes, Toyota and Nissan had that too, but not the same...
"The Defender, more than any other Land Rover, is what defines the brand's core virtue: its off-road ability. Part of that is its rough and ready, no-nonsense appeal. Retaining those qualities in an age when software defines how cars behave will be difficult trick for Land Rover to pull off."
It's 'character' that defines Defender for me. That certain june se qua, that something you can't put your finger on. Its the joy of just going for a drive around the corner...any excuse! Simple pleasure.
...that's where it sits. Simple pleasure. Garnered from simplicity of design. And from a certain onstancy of potential for journey. And from pragmatic form meeting classic proportions = this is very rare.
Command driving position. Capability. Character. ...Very hard to replicate. And we all know that. Every time we get in the drivers street. Which is something aboutvwhere that feeling comes from.
Defently something there as everyone said hard to put my finger on it they're just a classic design and I love driving mine. Wifey kids and I will look at the weather forecast, snow down to 200metres we know what we're doing. Jump in the defender hit the gravel and find some altitude. Bbq breakfast at Hartz hut or just hit the back roads. Just a proper driving experience I suppose with minimal technology input.

Not a bad article, I took a print of it!
Pickles.
What is it about driving a Defender? ...it's the last hand made production vehicle with character and incredibly diverse capability that doesn't remove all 'feel' from the driving experience. It's got its priorities right, durable and pragmatic over bling and 'car-like' handling (which simply means the same as every other boring suburban car on the road).
