you are 9/10 of the way there
IME (limited albeit) you dont want to be playing with the primary fuel screw on the Bosch too much
Sooooo you really only have aneroid settings and boost to play with safely
Chuck in a Dawes valve that gives you easy control of boost on a 300 where the waster gate rod is in triple-jointed-midget-hand territory
Now you have easy control of boost/wastegate.
So adjust aneroid setting on the plunger and star wheel and aim for 18-20 psi boost, sub 700 EGT and as much smoke as you feel comfortable with
I guarantee old mate with a dyno will spend less time and effort than you will
