Rock slider with a wide step

					Hi All

I'm not sure if there's already a topic on this so I hope Im not repeating what's already been said. I have had a look but could not find the answer to my question.

I am picking up my 130 next week and am wanting to put some kind of step/rock slider on the car to stand on so I can reach the roof racks.

I am a keen ocean kayaker and paddle at least 2 - 3 times per week so I'm lifting a 30-40kg kayak over my head off and on quite a bit,
I wishing to kill two birds with one stone and put some rock sliders on to protect the car and also act as a step to assist me in reaching up to load and unload the kayak. I have also ordered a Hannibal roof racks for the 130, so there's a good height to lift.
The only thing is that most of the rock sliders I've seen are not very deep. I have a large hoof and by the time I stand on a lot of rock sliders I feel like I'm grabbing on with my toes.
Could anybody assist me with the name of a brand of rock slider that is strong and at the same time deep enough to be comfortable to stand on for loading roof racks

                                                #2

By deep I presume you mean wide, as in distance from body to outer limits of step? I would think deep means vertical distance, but that could just be my interpretation. Will look on with interest as I have nice wide alloy ones and would rather good steel sliders the same size.

Sorry, they're not really sliders, just wide steps and they've got a bit of a bend in them from the odd rock. They're a bit soft.

					Re; side steps/sliders....
Maybe try contacting a member on here called "lokka"
He is at Stockton and does custom work for 4wds.
I've never used his stuff, but have been impressed with the pics that I have seen of his work, and the writeups by members with his bits and pieces.

Do they need to be actual sliders or will heavy duty steps suffice? I posted a pic of my Landybitz hd steps in another thread this morning. They might be what your after.

I have a size 12 hoof and they are perfect for me.

look perfect, what brand are they? and where did you get them? They look like sliders,do you reckon they can take a nock. Im not looking at doing extreme off roading , though every now and then I do scrape the belly.

They are Landybitz. Based in qld. Owner is a guy named Justin. Pretty easy to deal with. They are very strong, stronger than the mounting points. Pretty sure they will take a good knock.

RVR 110 had some made by Mulgo wider than standard. If you look on his build thread you can see if they stick out enough for you.
