Thanks I will have a look. Our other truck has an isolation switch but I did not find one on this truck yet.

The 130 is an ex FRS (Fire and Rescue Service) appliance. I'm with the BFS (Bush Fire Service) and all our appliances are white and all 4x4.
Both the FRS and BFS often work together, particularly larger incidences though we normally are separate which is why I don't recollect the 130 you are looking at.
We did have three Defenders but these have been replaced with toyotas.
One thing is obvious, the tojos struggle with the terrain where the Defenders traversed with ease.;):D

Our local FES had one of those Defender LT units. I will ask if they remember what that connector does.

Appreciated as the wire coming from it disappears among other wires.

The socket appears to be sort of like a NATO 24 volt socket, although I cannot see the thread that is used on the NATO one.

Is it a threaded connector, or a quick release (or auto eject) like Kussmaul sockets for emergency vehicles?

Also is the 130 a 12 volt system or has it been converted to 24 volt?

Hi Mike I will have to go and check on all those points as the truck is at our shed. I did not see any extra batteries and there would not be room for another under the seat so just a guess, but it is probably 12v. The socket does not have a thread I do remember that much.

Thanks Mike that is really interesting :). I love the low tank on our regular truck you need to be careful of tip angles, but this is going to be great to get us where we need to go. Best bit is I get to drive a Landy while fighting fires :D
