Never had a problem with my 2012 130, regularly cross a river with water between 5-800mm, bow wave to the top of bonnet, concentrate on the correct wading techniques and let the car do its job, recommended 500mm is for sitting or slowly moving thru water, do it properly and a puma will handle much deeper with no problems.. I'm less worried about depth and more worried about flow and pressure on the side of the vehicle that could push you off the crossing.

At the 51sec mark you might notice a sudden increase in sound level. That was me winding down the driver window so I could hang out a bit and watch how far up the stock engine air intake grille the water got to (half way up). A second or so later you can see the headlights reflection on water surface is completely gone (headlights submerged).
(The stop at the end while on the slope was to leap out, open doors, and let out the muddy water that got into the cabin - the drive continued uneventfully afterwards)
