    EGT readout help needed.

Hi, hopefully someone here has the same digital EGT readout as I. It's fitted and working fine, I have wired it up to an LED warning light to come on at a set temperature but have lost the instructions on how to set the thing, it was bought from a guy calling himself corey000017 or something similar on Fleabay for around $100, hopefully the pictures will come out OK, I just need to know how to set the temp to alarm, I have emailed the seller to no avail and I think he may have stopped trading!
    Cheers, Kanga.

Thanks, I have had an answer and a scanned copy of the instructions posted in a reply on exploroz.com there are a number of different codes to imput to alter the alarm parameters, I have set it to alarm at 800 Celcuis Justin C said to me over 900 is dangerous so I figured 800 would give me additional security.
The car runs a lot cooler now with the front mount Allisport Intercooler and hasn't got above 550 Celcuis on some long hills locally, but we are prepping for a decent mainland trip next year including the Simpson, Kimberley and the Cape, so I expect the EG Temps will rise with the car working harder in tougher/hotter conditions. Cheers, Kanga1.

    Pre turbo, 720*C IMO.

Only ever ran it there on very long hill climbs, and only for seconds (can count on one hand the number of times I exceeded that in ten years) and can show you the cracked piston from what I reckon was excessive combustion pressures after the head gasket let go at 325,000km.
Big ends (only the top halves) were toast after 100,000km too and the little ends needed re-bushing as clearances were excessive.

Have not run mine much past 650. I also thought 700 was the line in the sand

Thanks for that info to the other thread, just what the Doctor ordered. Cheers, Kanga.
