Bastard of an act.....someone will be disappointed.
And yes, double springs standard on a 130 and also the mil 110" RFSV
(you are/were a long way from your stamping ground)
Came across this poor 130 in the bush today.
Burnt out wreck of what looks to be a once well setup vehicle. White, looks to have had the defender stickering on the door. Has aftermarket shocks and dual coil springs on the rear (not sure if standard?).
Found just off George Booth drive. Unsure of how fresh this wreck is...
Theives have stripped the winch, tray and rear tyres/wheels. They left the driving lights, front bullbar, aerial and brush bar for the flames
Some people have no respect for other's property.
I tried to decipher the chassis number, but it was too charred to read other than SALL...

I was out wheeling without the defender. I left it at home this weekend. Making company with my mate's 60 series cruiser.

The surface rust on the brush bar and side runner would indicate that it's not fresh, but probably not very old either. Sad loss for someone. Mongrels.
Cheers, Billy.
Keeping it simple is complicated.
A lot of this going on lately. Last week they were that brazen they pulled up on the Kwinana Fwy in a stolen Pajero and set fire to it with traffic driving past (had a get away car as well).
However it may be a case of a car catching fire and the owner stripping off the salvageable parts before someone else did.
Would be interesting to know either way.
On a local FB page last week someone posted about a BNW being parked on Pinjarra Rd and not being stripped after a week. I need some BMW parts. Not as common and harder to shift I suppose, but unusual if a car is on the side of Pinjarra Rd for more than a day it is usually stripped and set on fire. The consequences need to be a lot higher for this scum. At very minimum the plates usually get stolen.

On this one, the winch was removed, but the solenoid box was there. The tray had been removed... which I think in anyone's language is not the first thing you do when you say '**** my car is on fire'
The tracks we were driving were in the bush, but they opened up onto this tarred service road... we ended up in between 2 locked gates... so not sure where we were, but it was secluded enough for the crooks to get some work done it seems.
It was interesting to see how similar a defender looks to a coke can that's been in the fire overnight. There was not much rood left... or wing tops... or engine for that matter.
