    rebuild of the lt77 gearbox

gents any tipps rebuild of lt77 for my 92 defender. reason for rebuild is spline wear. also second gear difficult to engage sometimes. Any tips or upgrades that are possible for inproving whilst im rebuilding. Best bearings? Timken? Also is there a mainshaft upgrade for the lt77 with longer splines as long as the r380 rear output splines? can an r380 mainshaft be used perhaps? cheers gents in advance i appreciate it. also is it good idea to use bearing retainer for bearings?

Have you changed the input gear in the transfer case for a cross drilled version?

I doubt a r380 mainshaft would fit. If you have the budget for it you can upgrade to a r380, see ashcroft website for details.
