Yep, it's Tdci from this nut or nothing ! :D
For those that aren't aware, the engine family name for the Tdi was 'Gemini' and the TD5 was 'Storm'.
If you really want to confuse us Tdi drivers just ask us how our 'Gemini's' are going. [emoji33]
At least 'Storm' has some sort of resonance with me as a mate is an ex-LR engineer and that's how he referred to it at the time it was released, but hardly anyone else would know or have heard that.
Hmmm and sounds like a similar story to ours. At least we have a new angle of attack with this email address so thanks.
On a side note, and warning this might be a stupid question, but if you get a remap say via BAS, which I believe is a whole new ECU, can you then reset the EKA code?
Practicality and a child - why I bought a DC.
Had been without a 4by for some 7yrs and my son was approaching his 5th birthday. It was time to replace the current vehicle, and about time to get the lad out into the jungles to experience the wild before its all gone. That was two yrs ago.
Two years later - Son started primary school this year. After 6mths in school I reckon he'd be able to identify who are his best buddies and of course that would be kids he plays and learns with every day at school.
Imagine my surprise when I asked the question "so who is your best buddy in the whole world?" and he answered "Adam, Alex, and Ismail". These three are kids he only sees every few months - on camping trips!
I asked why he considered those three camping buddies as his best mates in the whole world, since he doesn't meet them very often - " ...because we do real "stuff" together, dad, in the jungle, cutting firewood, fishing, adventure, digging, exploring."
Happy!
So true, and it is my plan to get my son out camping asap. My wife is more reluctant but is coming around. I bought a Pajero for my wife and for the family camping trips, I thought it was a bit selfish to have two 110s but I might be able to sneak a 90 in somewhere:D
My 110 is waiting patiently for when my son is old enough to travel in it. We'll do the real trips in that one (without the wife).
Back on the OP, I don't bother locking my fuel cap. Why bother? Seriously, who is going to steal your diesel?
Also, anti-stall is great for idling over obstacles in first gear low. Makes other vehicle drivers really envious when they are spinning wheels and revving and you just idle quietly by them.
If your legs are long like mine I recommend the extended seat runners from The Expedition Centre (Google it) in Sydney. Make a world of difference. Easy to fit.
