    Need help deciding roof color

Hi guys and girls, I have just joined this forum and my first post concerns a first world problem! You see I have just placed an order for one of the last Defenders to be built and I am having a problem deciding on the roof color!

So Im getting a 110 wagon in Corris Grey with an expedition rack. It will have the dual finish rims on it but my dilemma is the roof color!! I am of the opinion that it should be grey the same as the rest of the vehicle but my wife and son think the black looks better? Interested in thoughts and any photos of similar looking cars!

Whilst I have your attention as a newbie I have some other questions you might be able to answer:

    1. Is there any way to extend the slide of the front seats? I am 6ft four and a little more leg room wouldn't go astray! I drove a 2A so I get the whole comfort thing is second to the performance of the vehicle but if it was an easy fix then I would be open to it!
    2. Is there an easy way of installing a child seat in the back?
    3. Are there anything nuances or little gimmicks I should know about? I have to wait until February for it to be built so its like 6months months worth of Christmas eves when you were a child - I will be a wreck by the time it gets here!!
I hope I have posted correctly and I look forward to being an active member in the future!!

Welcome to the forum. Good choice on the vehicle.

Can't help with the roof colour choice as my wife picks the colours as i can't visualise colour.

See Mulgo expedition centre for seat rails. I don;t have them yet but lots on here recommend them.

For child seat installations there was a recent thread on it and check out Mekons thread on his Defender as he's just set his Defender up with child seats fittings.

About a year ago I was in the same boat as you. The wait is agonising.

Anyway, I also seriously contemplated the different roof but ended up going all black. Haven't regretted it at all. Personally I like the full corris grey but have seen one with a black roof around Claremont and it does look good too. At the end of the day it is a personal choice.

The child seat matter is one you can find quite a few threads on. I didn't do it but there is a place it hat does build an anchor into the rear of the seat. Otherwise you may need a crab bar.

Also with the kids I got a second 12 volt plug put in the rear by the dealer.

Another thing is consider some sound proofing to keep the wife happy. Also some good threads on this. I got some rhinoliner put in the rear wheel arches and it made a big difference.

Hey DefenderBen, welcome! I'd consider a classic white roof if I were you. Second choice would be grey to match. Black is too hot in summer IMO. I have an Indus Silver 110, with silver roof, but often think a white roof would be better.

'Mulgo' brand seat runner extender bars are the way to go.
Sorry can't advise on child seat anchors.

Otherwise keep it simple is my advice. No need for excessive mods IMO, it's already perfect! ...All I've done is upgrade shocks to Koni Raids because I drive heaps of corrugated inland roads. ...I'd also like to add a RidjiDidj rear wheel carrier to take the weight off the rear door when I find the cash.

Enjoy the wait! and all the excellent advice and generosity of this extraordinary online community. Cheers

Are you getting the third row seats? Pricey and take up room but great way to squeeze in the kids friends.

I live in the middle of the Gibson desert and drive a Nara Bronze Defender (both supposedly 'hot' colours) with a black roof and I personally find my hubby's yellow Disco hotter to get around in. Go figure.

I love the Corris grey with the black roof. The grey does look nice on it's own but I think the black just sets it off a bit more.
