    Puma T/C oil leak

What are the expert thoughts on this.

The sons Puma has 80k on it and is weeping from the T/C.Oil is also being flicked off the front out put shaft.

Difficult to see where it is leaking from,i am no mechanic.

Cleaned it off with degreaser and will have a look later in the week.

Doesn't seem to be any play up and down on that front output shaft, maybe just the seal?

No funny noises while being driven either,no clunks or excessive backlash.

The G/Box,engine are dry,no leaks at all.

Been a great vehicle, first real issue, has done a lot of off road work.

The TFC input shaft seal can elongate allowing oil to weep. It might be more pronounced on the Puma with input shaft premature wearing problems. I have that problem and will live with it until I need to drop the TFC or gearbox. MLD

50% of the pumas i have removed the front propshaft on have had oil leaks there. The nut on all of them was loose and oil was running down the splines and into the gap between the outputflange and the universal just run some rtv oil proof sealant in under the thick washer and tighten the nut again. (30mm socket )

Thanks JC,hopefully that is it.Will give it a go.

The bolts on the front prop shaft flange(i think that is what you call it),14mm, were loose, and it has never been off since new.

Torque setting for the 30mm bolt 120ft/lb

Mine has had the front prop nut on mine come loose - I think they seem to come loose more often on lifted rigs?
