Haha was that you in the grey 110 with Melvill and Moon wheel cover on the back? I was going to ask in the WA section who that was. I literally saw a dozen Defenders down there that day, it was ridiculous :p

I got more than a few strange looks carrying that 400mm lens around that day. Nice to see you, anyway ;)

NB: ONE THING. Ring your dealer IMMEDIATELY & have him retain the broadcast/build sheet for you, and also retain all the stickers they pull off the car/windows etc, & get 'em to place them on a sheet of plastic.

To clarify, did you do all this with the C63 for example.
Yes the LR story is long and complex, and I want a 101 :p

I did.
And I did it with our HSV GTO, Focus RS, Brock Commodores, etc etc.
I think that if you are lucky enough to own a classic car (and the Defender certainly is that), then ALL documentation that YOU can collect relative to YOUR vehicle, makes YOUR car that much more special,.....that's the way I feel anyway.
I ain't contemplating selling Gracie anytime soon, but with my previous classics, the documentation I've had has certainly assisted in the sale of the vehicle.
But really, if any of this "documentation" is available/attached to the vehicle,.......surely YOU might as well grab it,.......alternatively it'll just go in the bin!!

I believe the Asian King docked this late arvo in Melbourne - I rang to see if I could get anywhere to see it - answer -no way - oh well - it's here after 7 months - not long now:D

I took your advice and passed on these requests to the dealer this week.

My contact's reply:

'Regarding your notes from Pre delivery I must admit I have never heard of these requests but happy to assist where I can.'

Its just rounded Cape Otway and is due to berth at 2am tomorrow morning. Only 22 more sleeps for me.

Finally the Asian King has berthed in Brisbane. Today my Defender will be back on dry land. Now it just has to make it to Tamworth.

16 more sleeps.

Can anyone fill me in on what goes on from the car leaving the ship to it arriving at the dealership? I've been told my car won't be ready to collect until the week of the 8th of February, which is over three weeks since it hit the docks.

Apparently my dealer doesn't even have the car yet. What's the deal? :confused:
