    Turbo Tuning / Specialists.....

The turbo on my 300 tdi defender seemed to be playing up so I've had a new turbo technics item fitted. It appears to have no boost now and is around 3-5 psi

I assumed that this would have been a ready to fit item and wouldn't need any fettling. It certainly doesn't like hills now

Are there any turbo specialists on the northside of Brisbane who could set it up properly ?? I'm not sure the garage who fitted it can sort it.

I don't know whether Mike Vine is still operating Jerry - I think he's in Capalaba. But he seems to know what he is doing with turbo installation/tuning.

It was just our local garage workshop who we always use for our car servicing, they literally removed the old turbo / manifold and fitted the new turbo / manifold. They also removed and cleaned out the intercooler and hoses.

They haven't touched or altered the fuel pump

Hmm likely to be something simple then. Are you able to post detailed pics of the turbo and hose routing to fuel pump boost compensator etc?

Try British off road, I believe they do a fair bit of turbo work
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

"The turbo on my 300 tdi defender seemed to be playing up"
What were the initial symptoms of playing up? Low boost like the new one?
