    Sorry, meant to say bolts...
Once the belt is on, the tensioner takes up what little slack is left.
Maybe worth a try b4 you leave.

At least they are easy to get to. I can get a 1820 at Benalla and will give it a go if I don't get the correct belt tomorrow.

Hey gillie sorry couldn't get to the ph today im on my own out on the workshop while paul is on holidays. The 1820 will fit but is very tight usually. I would be careful about doing that as the tensioner will be on max .

Less than 12 hrs to go......
The serpentine belt did arrive today and even better it was the correct part. Fitted it tonight along with the other idler pulley bearing. The intention was always to replace both of them but last week I could only get the one bearing. The idler pulley bearing placed tonight was in very poor shape and I suspect that it was the cause of the problem. Once pressed out of the pulley it appeared to be in very poor shape and I suspect causing the pulley to wobble and the belt to squeal.

I now have a spare belt anyway.

I think there would of been no way known I could of fitted a 1820 belt on. the 1825 was tight to fit and with the tensioner all the way back I still undid the AC compressor bolts.

Thanks to one and all for your input and Guidance. Job well done.
    better go and pack now.
