Will the new Defender get the wave???

I'm just curious if the new Defender will be part of the community of the wave that distinguishes the 90/110/130 from everyone else? Or be the red-headed step child?

I personally am not inclined tbh.

I think we better get this straight.....

Lets wave to it at first, and wait and see what the personality is like - not immediately but after a bit......

It may be the bastard child, then --excommunication!!

    but...

It may be the 'good Rang-er' -life of the party and in that case we'll keep waving...

(Prince Harry -- prime example, I'd wave at HRH Prince Harry, he seems a good bloke with his causes etc sorted!)

But will any of this matter???
It wasn't going to be called a Defender -- so unless its called a "Series 28" (or whatever it was we worked out it was up to!)

More importantly will the people who buy this 'defender' want to wave to us??

I think it would depend on what the new one is like. If it's been made with the whole 'Land Roverness' like what's in the Series I through to the Defender then I think it would deserve it. If it is designed like the Disco or Rangie and have green oval slapped on it then I don't think it would deserve it.

I think we won't know until we get some information on the New Defender.

    Just my opinion,
    Nathan.

Valid points. I may be moved towards it if there is some of the soul the previous model. I don't envy the engineers in the task they have ahead.

Big shoes. Will be much comparison to make where it counts in the rough stuff

If it's a Land Rover, I'll wave. Even if they don't wave back, the puzzled look on their faces when they see me waving is priceless and makes it worthwhile!

There are so many Land Rovers around here that I get RSI from waving. Mostly only Defenders wave back but I live in hope.
Are we going to have a debate when the new one comes out? If so, should we then have a vote as to weather it qualifies as a Defender or the equivalent?
I think the issue will ultimately be resolved by the owners of the new one. If it is a genuine replacement/descendent the new owners will be moved to wave and we by our nature will return.
    Cheers, Billy.

    Keeping it simple is complicated.
